The
Walk on Water competition is a race that all architecture students in the
school must complete to graduate. It is a typical rite of passage of the FIU School of Architecture (Florida, Miami) and it is celebrated annually. Students
complete this in their Methods and Materials class in their sophomore year.
They need to cross the 175 foot (53,35m) wide lake in front of the Green
Library- To do this they must invent and contruct a type of walking device,
hence the ‘Waking on Water’ Students must walk across to win and pass the
class. The first to cross the lake wins 500$
